Welcome to our parish website. Here, you can find out everything we do at the parish of St Luke the Evangelist.
The parish of St Luke the Evangelist was founded back in 1937, with the church opening in 1940. It was last consecrated in 2005. St Luke’s church is also within walking distance from Whiston Hospital.
In 2022, St Leo’s which is 30-minute walk away, joined the parish.
Fr Michael Thompson is the parish priest. He has been based in Whiston since 2021. Dcn Joseph Morgan is our parish deacon and has been in the role since 2016.
As well as two churches, the parish also oversees three schools. Two of which are primary (St Leo’s and Southmead Catholic Primary School and St Luke’s Catholic Primary School) and one secondary school (St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy).
